The Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce and the Iowa Restaurant Association (IRA) launched a partnership today to offer Johnson County restaurants discounted membership in both organizations and create an ongoing platform for providing enhanced benefits for joint members.

The Iowa City Area Chamber and IRA exist to help small locally-owned businesses thrive, said Kim Casko, president and CEO of the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce. We’re about growing businesses across Johnson County and the IRA is about creating a thriving restaurant scene across the state.  It’s a natural partnership.
The two associations will collaborate on educational offerings; promote shared legislative and regulatory agendas; and promote business services and discount programs to support members, as well as promote member restaurants within the community.
The joint membership offer is available through the end of 2019. During this special discount period, current IRA members can join the Iowa City Area Chamber  for a one-time annual membership fee of $300.  Current Chamber members can join the Association for $325 per year.  Restaurants joining both organizations for the first time will receive a first-year rate of $600 for both organizations.

We appreciate the role of local Chambers in their communities, and we look for opportunities to bring more focus to the local restaurant scene, said Jessica Dunker, president and CEO of the Iowa Restaurant Association. This collaborative program does much to promote and protect operators.
Johnson County restaurants must join the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce and/or Iowa Restaurant Association by Dec. 31, 2019 to take advantage of this special offer. For more information or to sign-up, contact the Chamber directly at 319-337-9637 or visit https://www.iowacityarea.com/join-now/.
